伊拉克人阿曼來到德國尋求庇護，但申請進度卻一直處於不確定狀態。他被丟到偏遠的小村鎮，認識了當地的酒吧老闆娘卡嘉。阿曼對美國牛仔排舞的熱愛感染了村民，甚至讓全村都掀起跳牛仔排舞的風潮。然而並非所有人都能接受一個尋求庇護的異鄉客，因而爆發了許多衝突。浪漫的情節中暗藏著對時局的嘲諷，故事結局圓滿，美得像場夢，在紛亂的世局中，本片悄悄道出人們心中所期盼的奇蹟和美夢。
